Donation Drive to benefit People and Pets in Need
Danville: On October 20, 2016 Tucker Associates Real Estate Services hosted their 12th annual Donation Drive. This year’s theme was a Tail Gate Party and Donation Drive to collect lightly used clothing and household goods to benefit Shepherd’s Gate, pet adoptions through Lucky Dog Rescue, Pleasanton and community awareness for Horses Healing Hearts, Inc., Pleasanton.
From 4:00pm – 7:00 pm the parking lot at Tucker Associates Real Estate Services was rocking to the musical talents of JJ Music Camps of Danville. Geries AbouAyash, the director of JJ Music Camps showcased their artists who performed pop rock and classic hits. Michael Taconni and his team from Bay Equity Mortgage sponsored a Food Truck with tacos and gourmet burritos; Porsche of Livermore delivered two Porsche sports cars as “eye candy” for the sports car enthusiasts to enjoy and donated a brand new Porsche for a weekend get-a-away as a raffle prize. Nathan and Lara Mahlik of State Farm Insurance hosted a pumpkin patch with photo booth and candied apples from Danville Chocolates.
Over 130 guests turned out resulting in a full truck load of useful items for Shepherd’s Gate thrift store. Shepherd’s Gate‘s staff was on site with their donation truck ready to receive reusable clothing and household donations. Lucky Dog Rescue was on site with 3 adorable young dogs up for adoption. 2 of the 3 dogs were adopted that day! Melissa C. Austin, the founder and president of Horses Healing Hearts, shared information about their mission to educate and provide assistance to horses in need. Melissa brought Penny the pony for everyone to admire. Penny also found a forever home thanks to the commitment of the group at Horses Healing Hearts.
The team at Tucker Associates Real Estate Services hosted and donated raffle items to boost raffle ticket sales. Over $1,500.00 was raised selling raffle tickets. The proceeds from the ticket sales were donated and divided equally among the three charities.
Jill Gandara, the Community Outreach Officer for Shepherd’s Gate, acknowledged the long standing relationship between Tucker Associates and Shepherd’s Gate. Jill says; “your group has been such faithful partners and have truly impacted lives of women and children at Shepherd’s Gate”.
